How To Remove Close Button on Firefox Tabs Posted: 22 Apr 2012 08:10 PM PDT The close button on Firefox tab is a very useful feature but it sometimes gets really annoying especially when you have lots of open tabs, it’s hard to jump to other tabs without accidentally clicking the close button. Well, good thing Firefox is very customizable, we can easily turn them off or get it on again if we want with just a simple value changing. Follow the easy steps below on how you can remove the close button on Firefox tabs. 1. Open your Firefox browser then Type about:config in the address bar 2. Look for this entry browser.tabs.closebuttons 3. Change the value from 1 to 3. Giving a 0 value will also remove the close button but only for inactive tabs. Notice that the close button are now both gone on the two tabs. To easily close a tab you can either press CTRL+W or just simply click the tab using your mouse middle button.
