Steps on Taking Care of Your Laptop Battery

Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:38 PM PST

If you have a new laptop computer with you, it always comes with a manual or an instructional guide. You can read from their instructions on how to use your computer; what to do and what to avoid. But sometimes, people tend to neglect to sift through these important pages. Some of the information is very vital to teaching how to use your laptop well without damaging the laptop battery. If you want to maximize your laptop use, then you should read more on how to prolong and to maintain your battery. Sadly, there are not many sources where you can read through tips such as this one, so please go through the tips we are about to discuss.

First and foremost, your battery is has an expiration date. It cannot last you for a lifetime! You have about a few years of good use, and if you maintain it properly maybe even longer. But let me tell you that your battery will not last. Once you understand that, you pretty much will have an idea on how to go about it with any kind of battery out there; even a Dell laptop battery is subject to this. You have to understand that the battery is a fragile thing that will be broken if abused or stretched out too much.

Lastly, never take the charging process for granted. Never charge the battery too much that it becomes overcharged, nor never let the battery go to zero power. The battery strives in consistency. If your charging is consistent, your laptop battery lifespan will remain steadfast. The worst thing that can happen to your laptop experience is your battery dying out on you just when you need it the most. If you know how that feels, then you should keep an eye out. Make sure to take care of it!

10 Weird Gaming Guinness Book Records

Posted: 01 Feb 2011 08:32 AM PST

I’m a computer gamer myself, my favorites are sports games and RPG, I’m surprise that such record exist especially with the record details. I found out about this when I stumble on Wired Magazine site where they compiled a list of 10 interesting records related to video gaming from the Guinness Book of World Records Gamer's Edition. Some of them sounds weird especially when U.S. player Erik Novak paid 3.3 million in-game dollars, the equivalent of $330,000, for the Crystal Palace Spec Station. Spend $330,000 for a online game digital property?

Check out other records like the Most “F” in a video game, the First Public Official Fired for Playing FarmVille and more.

Will the iPad Be the Best Tablet for Long?

Posted: 31 Jan 2011 05:52 AM PST

The iPad – as the new kid in the block – has been met with mixed emotions. Some are skeptic while some are excited over its new set of features. At first there were some who thought it would just be an oversized iTouch, and because Apple kept the whole project under wraps for so long – many had no idea what to expect. Most of us knew though that the gadget would rock the electronic world with its appearance.

Amazon’s Kindle was the initial spark to start the planning for a hand held device that is larger than a cell phone. The Kindle was designed to only read ebooks, however it’s popularity was a surprise. After all, the technology was always there to read books on your computer, but not many people like to read like that. When Amazon put the capability into something that closer resembled a book – people seemed to love it. It wasn’t that far of a leap to take that premise and think about what else could be better used in this new kind of gizmo.

How about surfing the web, watching videos, playing games, email, and so on and so forth. It only makes sense that the public will see the usefulness of the iPad over time. When you add the Wifi or 3G capability, you can even Skype with loved ones or on a business conference call. Other applications like keeping medical records, business presentations, or even inventory information. All of these things will benefit from the iPads functionality and flexibility.

How long will the iPad reign in this new tablet generation? Only time will tell. The Android market has been quick to develop competitors – the new Samsung Galaxy is the best of those seen so far, but there will be many more in the future. Just as it has been Mac vs. the PC, you will see a lot of competitors willing to take on the challenge of dethroning the iPad. Even now, the iPad would not be considered to be one of the best ebook readers, and the Kindle is working it’s way to becoming a multi-functional tool. In the end, it will be the consumers who drive the development and choose the best of the best among the tablets.
