This simple tip will help you place the Recycle Bin on the Taskbar in Windows 7 for easy access. This is very useful if you are busy multi-tasking on your computer and want to quickly access your recycle bin.

Easy way to add Recycle Bin to Windows 7 Taskbar

First, right click anywhere on your desktop, click New then select Shortcut.

Copy and paste the code below for the location, then click Next

explorer.exe shell:RecycleBinFolder

Rename it to Recycle Bin or whatever you wish to call it and click Finish.

The shortcut to Recycle Bin is done. Now we need to change it’s icon.

To change the Icon, right click on the recycle bin shortcut you’ve just created then click Properties.

Click on the Change Icon button.

Copy and paste the following into the field that says Look for icons for this file

%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll

A new window will appear, just scroll over and look for the Recycle Bin icon

Click on Ok button and your Recycle Bin shortcut is ready.

Now, to add it on the taskbar, you can either drag it to the Taskbar or right-click and select Pin to Taskbar.

There you have it!, you now have a full functional Recycle Bin shortcut pinned on your Windows 7 Taskbar

If you want to remove it, just right-click then select Unpin this program from taskbar.
